Everyone loves a good story and everyone loves good music. Combine the two with the finest acting and singing voices, add the expected elements from good theater: costumes, staging, scenery, and sets and you have opera. Opera Las Vegas brings you the best from the world of opera.

Opera Las Vegas is a professional opera company comprised of professionals in organization, planning, marketing, musical and artistic excellence and many others.

OLV is a non-profit corporation with its funding derived from individual sponsorships, ticket revenue, grants, corporate sponsorships and fundraising events.

The primary goal is to present two full-scale operas each year, one in June and one in September. This extends the regional arts calendar (October to May) of the Las Vegas Philharmonic and Nevada Ballet Theater without creating schedule conflicts. Our ultimate goal is to be the resident opera company in the new Smith Center for the Performing Arts scheduled to open in 2011.


The Opera Las Vegas Chorus is led by a professional director. The singers have an opportunity to exhibit their talent in numerous venues including mainstage productions. Special performances have been given at OLV Guild meetings, Henderson Events Plaza and Green Valley Presbyterian Church.
